Car wrapping offers numerous benefits and advantages. Firstly, it provides a cost-effective solution for changing the appearance of your vehicle, allowing you to achieve a fresh and personalized look without the need for expensive paint jobs. Additionally, car wrapping acts as a protective layer, shielding your car's original paint from scratches, UV rays, and other potential damages. Moreover, it is a reversible process, meaning you can easily remove the wrap and restore your vehicle to its original condition whenever desired. Car wrapping also offers a wide range of design options, allowing you to choose from various colors, patterns, and finishes to suit your style and preferences. Overall, car wrapping is a practical and versatile solution that enhances the aesthetics, protection, and customization of your vehicle.
The cost of wrapping a vehicle can vary depending on several factors such as the size of the vehicle, the type of wrap material used, and any additional design or customization options. It is best to consult with a professional wrap installer to get an accurate quote for your specific vehicle and desired wrap.
A few things to consider:
- Vehicle size affects cost
- Vehicle surface complexity affects installation time
- Existing paintwork condition affects visibility of dents and scratches
- Aftermarket parts increase installation time
- Existing vinyl or graphics must be removed before applying new wrap
The duration of the process can vary depending on the size of the vehicle, complexity of the design, and detail of the car and wrap project. A full wrap can take 3-5 business days or longer, especially if there are additional exterior modifications or drastic color changes that require extra time to cover up the underlying color. The disassembly and reassembly of the vehicle, including any aftermarket parts, can also impact the overall time frame. If bodywork prep is needed before the wrap application, that will add to the timing as well.
To clean a wrapped vehicle, you should follow a few guidelines to ensure its longevity and appearance. Firstly, use a mild detergent or soap specifically designed for vehicle wraps. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the wrap. Secondly, wash the vehicle by hand using a soft sponge or cloth, gently wiping away any dirt or debris. Rinse thoroughly with water to remove any soap residue. Lastly, avoid using high-pressure washers or automatic car washes, as they can cause the wrap to peel or lift. Instead, opt for hand washing to maintain the integrity of the wrap.
Wrap film is not permanent, making it fast and easy to change your style up quickly and easily, without damage to the current OEM factory paint. In many cases, the film can be the less expensive option. Not only is there a possibility of a significant price difference, but the timing of job completion is quicker, which mean less downtime, the maintenance of a wrap is very little. Another great benefit is the replacement.
Care for your car wrap like you would any fine paint finish.
Most wraps are easy to care for. Almost all wraps can be washed with soap and water just like a normal car. Some colors like matte and satin need to be washed with a soft scrub only. We offer a number of polishes and special cleaners for every car wrap.
*** IMPORTANT NOTE: It is not recommended to use wax or other similar products.
AUTOMATED CAR WASHES
Vinyl wraps may be run through car washes. Touch less car washes are the best for vinyl care. Use of brush car washes (depending upon the frequency and quality of brush) may cause dulling/scratching/lifting edge of the graphics.
PRESSURE WASHING
Although hand washing is the preferred cleaning method, pressure washing may be used under these conditions.
***IMPORTANT NOTE: Holding the nozzle of a pressure washer at an angle to the vinyl may lift the edges of the film.
DIFFICULT CONTAMINANTS
Soften difficult contaminants such as bug splatter, bird droppings, tree sap and similar contaminants by soaking them for several minutes with very hot, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
If further cleaning is needed, test one of these products in an inconspicuous area to ensure no damage to the graphics: Meguiar’s Gold Class™ Bug and Tar Remover or 3M™ Citrus Base Cleaner. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) (two parts IPA to 1 part water) or denatured alcohol may also help.
Spot clean the contaminants. Do not use rough scrubbing or abrasive tools, which will scratch the film. Wash and rinse off all residue immediately.
FUEL SPILLS
Wipe off immediately to avoid degrading the vinyl and adhesive. Then wash, rinse and dry as in "Wash Regularly" as soon as possible.
FILM RESTORATION
The following restoration recommendations will help keep your vehicle wraps looking their best.
***IMPORTANT NOTICE: Do not allow cleaning solution to soak and immediately rinse with clear water.
STORE INDOORS OR UNDER COVER WHENEVER POSSIBLE
Vinyl graphics (just like paint) are degraded by prolonged exposure to sun and atmospheric pollutants, particularly on the horizontal surfaces such as hood, trunk lid and roof.
Whenever possible, store in a garage or at least in a shaded area during the day. At night protect the car from dew or rain, which may contain acidic pollutants (a common problem in many large metropolitan areas).
When a garage is not available, consider using a cloth car cover at night. If your vinyl starts to discolor or turn brown, immediately remove the vinyl from the vehicle to avoid staining the underlying paint.
